This is a celebration of a woman coming into her time of wisdom, a ceremony in which she is crowned and presented with gifts from her female friends who recognize all that she has given thus far in her life.
I have been working with cloth and paint since childhood, creating everything from oil paintings to complex art quilts embellished with embroidery and beads. With cloth, there is the added element of kinesthetic feeling combined with the visual experience. My work is all about feeling, from physical touch to spiritual experience. I like to portray the ecstatic ordinary life. My hope is to inspire people whose spirits are enchanted with Earth, its creatures, gardens, magic and mystery.
