About Carol Bridges
I have been working with cloth and paint since childhood, creating everything from oil paintings to complex art quilts embellished with embroidery and beads. With cloth, there is the added element of kinesthetic feeling combined with the visual experience. My work is all about feeling, from physical touch to spiritual experience. I like to portray the ecstatic ordinary life. My hope is to inspire people whose spirits are enchanted with Earth, its creatures, gardens, magic and mystery. Each artwork aims to open a door to the realization of our mystical oneness with all that is.
I surrender to the flow of the heart when doing my pieces, losing myself in the pleasure of color, texture and visionary idea. I am also the author of The Medicine Woman Tarot and other books on living in harmony with nature. I teach classes in meditation and collage at Nine Harmonies School of the Sacred Arts in Nashville, Indiana, USA. More of my work can be seen at www.artquiltswithsoul.com. Commissions are welcome.
